Applied physical anthropology in the U.S. Army

1996

Instead of measuring the bodies of the last remnants of aboriginal populations, anthropometrists measure military personnel and civilians in order to design railroad and airplane seats and space suits. Doctors of Philosophy have become tailors to the new age of science. C. Coon, The Origin of Races (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1962)
