Smokeline: Australia’s Internet library

2000
Getting the facts straight is essential for tobacco control. We should leave inaccuracy to the tobacco industry. Most tobacco control organizations have a reference library, small or large, for their own or for public use. The Australian Council on Smoking and Health (ACOSH), which is involved primarily in advocacy and research and is based in Perth, Western Australia, has built up a considerable reference library over many years. The library contains books, reports, surveys, journal articles, acts of parliament and conference proceedings. It provides in-house information for ACOSH and also for students, researchers and the public. All of the papers in the library are allocated to major subject areas such as cessation, legislation, economics and the workplace and given key words which best describe their contents.
