Infrared Spectrum of Difluoramine

1963
The infrared spectrum of gaseous difluoramine, NF2H, has been investigated over the range 250–4000 cm—1. Four bands of NF2D have also been observed. The fundamental frequencies (in cm—1) and their species are as follows: NF2H:ν1(a′):3193;ν2(a′):1307;ν3(a′):972;ν4(a′):500;ν5(a′′):1424;ν6(a′′):888.NF2D:ν1(a′):[2333];ν2(a′):1008;ν3(a′):972;ν4(a′):[500];ν5(a′′):1042;ν6(a′′):888. The bracketed values were not observed directly. The fine structure resolved in several of the bands led to a value for A — (B+C)/2 in agreement with the microwave result. No inversion splitting was detected.
