The Analysis on Strength of the Thin Gun Barrel

There is a low press artillery which caliber is 100mm on some type of chariot.The part barrel of this artillery that 945mm apart from gun muzzle is thin cylinder .In this paper,this part barrel will be taken as subject investigated . It will be simplified as a thin cylinder which withstands pressure from inside . The strength of this part gun barrel will be solved taking use of the theoretical formula and finite element analysis software ANSYS on the situation of only consider of the tangential stress..The results show that these two kinds of methods are practical .But the theoretical formula is more accurate.
