ABSTRACT Conservation in a broad sense includes efforts to save, study and use resources sustainably, both physical and biological resources. There are two types of conservation, namely in-situ conservation and ex-situ conservation. Purwodadi Botanic Garden is included in the conservation area of ex-situ dry lowland plants located in East java. Purwodadi Botanic Garden is divided into six areas, calls “Lingkungan”. One of routine activities in Purwodadi Botanic Garden is plant collections management. The Purwodadi Botanic Garden collection perhaps could be a rare species, so this research needs to be done. The purpose of this study was to determine the species of rare plants, their conservation status and distribution in the Purwodadi Botanic Gardens. The research was conducted in an observative field which was carried out at the Collection Unit during July 2020 at the Purwodadi Botanic Garden. Based on the observations there are 54 species included in the IUCN Red List category consisting of various families and embedded in several areas at garden. Its conservation status is: 32 species that are Vulnerable, 14 species that are Endangered, 3 species that are Critically Endangered, 2 species that are Extinct in the Wild, 2 species that are Near Threated and 1 species which has the status of Least Concern.
