Microstepping Controller for Stepper Motors

The concept of microstepping is introduced at the outset. Then is described the microstepping controller (MSC) developed at IIT, Bombay. Our MSC is capable of yielding a mirostepping ratio of upto 128 and microstepping rate of 128 kHz. Hardware and software aspects of our MSC are dealt with. The possibility of getting an ASIC fabricated for our MSC with the help of Semiconductor Limited Chandigarh is being investigated.
