Bionomics and control of Gynaikothrips ficorum

Gynaikothrips ficorum is an important pest infesting Ficus microcarpa.It has 9-10 generations a year in Taizhou,Zhejiang Province and overwinters as adult inside the infested leaves.The overwintering adult revives in early March with 2 peaks of infestation in April-June and October-November.The population reduces in the end of June.The generations overlap.The life span of each generation varies with the seasons.The pest can be efficiently controlled with biological,chemical and artificial measures.
