Increased association of ulcerative colitis and coeliac disease

THREE patients with coeliac disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), from a population of 438 CD patients, are described. This is a rare association requiring clinical awareness. Patients not responding to appropriate treatment, should have the second diagnosis outruled.
