The results of theoretical and experimental studies of energy efficiency indicators (the amount of energy loss, efficiency) of the high-voltage cable transmission based on semiconductor (transistor) voltage converter and use non-conventional options of alternating currents and voltages (trapezoidal shape waveform, high frequency) are shown. The obtained results give reason to believe that, in practice, such transmissions may have a higher energy efficiency compared with power frequency 50 Hz (higher efficiency and no less than 3 times smaller amount of electricity losses) at the same rated power. The reliability of the proposed design methodology for determining the energy efficiency indicators of power cable transmission with non-traditional parameters of alternating currents and voltages is confirmed.
