The invention discloses a preparation method of titanium dioxide composite powder, comprising the following steps: S1, adding titanium dioxide, mica powder and calcium carbonate into an acid solution, and uniformly stirring to obtain a suspension A; S2, stirring while adding a pH regulator to regulate pH value of the suspension A to 7, so as to obtain a compound B; S3, adding the compound B into water and simultaneously adding water glass and a brightening agent VBL, uniformly stirring and filtering to obtain mixed liquor C; S4, heating the mixed liquor C, and drying to obtain a mixture D; and S5, putting the mixture D and aluminium oxide into a grinder and fully grinding the materials into fine powder, and bagging. By acid-base replacement, calcium carbonate is replaced with a titanium dioxide composite component. Thus, usage of titanium dioxide is minimized, and cost is reduced. The preparation method of the titanium dioxide composite powder has advantages as follows: raw materials are easily available; production cost is low; and operation is simple. The preparation method can be widely applied in industrial production.
