A new mechanical method for pulmonary artery anastomosis

Abstract Vascular anastomosis is an essential step for many surgery procedures, especially for cardiovascular surgeries and lung transplantation (LTx). Although hand-sewn anastomosis is known as the standard method for vascular anastomosis,there are many limitations for hand-sewn anastomoses, such as the requirement of technical expertise, time-consuming, and a limit for developing minimally invasive surgery. In this study, we introduce a new idea to conduct the great vascular mechanical anastomosis through the arterial flap using an endo-stapler.
