La gouvernance de la télémédecine face à l’organisation libérale des soins

With an institutionalist perspective, we question the organizational model and the forms of governance of telemedicine. Based on a survey of private practice physicians, this paper aims at explaining the few development of telemedicine within ambulatory medicine in private practice in France. Our survey point out a paradox that we explain. The main explanations advocated in public debates (technological barriers, acceptation problems) are not the explanations given by practitioners. While telemedicine's institutionalization is expected to lift barriers to the development of telemedicine, the survey suggests that this institutionalization is a barrier itself.
