Study of Injection Locking of a Gyrotron by Using the Modified Quasilinear Theory

In this paper, the modified quasilinear model of a gyrotron injection locking by an external signal is presented and theoretical study of the scenarios for the transition to the synchronization mode is carried out. We considered the situation when the gyrotron is in the hard excitation mode, since in that case maximum interaction efficiency is provided. Using the developed model, we derive the stability conditions of the synchronization modes and discuss the possibility of reaching maximal interaction efficiency in the mode of synchronization.
