Composite electrical contact material

2003
The composite electrical contact material for making electric elements includes one copper alloy layer and one silver alloy layer on the copper alloy layer. It features the silver alloy layer, whichis made of silver alloy containing Zn in 0.10-6.00 wt%, Cu in 0.10-15.00 wt% and Ni in 0.05-2.00 wt%, and covers all or partial surface of the copper alloy layer. The silver alloy has low-melting point, easy-to-volatize and non-toxic Zn, rather than toxic Cd, and thus has excellent electrically conducting and heat conducting performance, high mechanical performance, good environment protecting performance and high arc extinguishing effect and is suitable for use as electrically contacting material.
