Spin-Parity Analysis of the Centrally Produced K{sup 0}{sub S}K{sup {plus_minus}}{pi}{sup {minus_plus}} System at 800 GeV/c
1999
Results are presented from an analysis of a large sample of centrally produced mesons in the reaction pp{r_arrow}p{sub slow}(K{sup 0}{sub S} K{sup {plus_minus}}{pi}{sup {minus_plus}})p{sub fast} with 800 GeV/c protons incident on liquid hydrogen. Two resonances dominate the final state, the f{sub 1}(1285) , decaying into a{sub 0}{pi} , and the f{sub 1}(1420) , decaying into K{sup *}K . Both mesons are produced with equal amounts of {vert_bar}J{sub z}{vert_bar}{sup {eta}}=1{sup {plus_minus}} , and no J{sub z}=0 . {copyright} {ital 1999} {ital The American Physical Society}
