Real-time epileptic seizure prediction at Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra

2013
This demo will present a system developed for realtime epileptic seizure prediction, and the results of its application to patients from the Centro Hospitalar e Universitario de Coimbra. The system was developed on behalf of the European EPILEPSIAE project, is based on classification by machine learning methods, and was named as Brainatic. The system enables the consideration of previously trained classifiers for real-time seizure prediction. The software facilitates the computation of 22 univariate measures (features) per electrode, and classi cation using support vector machines (SVM), mutilayer perceptrons neural networks (MLP) and radial basis functions neural networks (RBF). Brainatic was able to operate in realtime on a dual Intel Atom netbook with 2GB of RAM. The demo will show in real-time how the system is setup and how it works in a real-live situation.
