Tetrafluoroethylene telomers with reactive end groups: radiation-initiated synthesis, properties, and prospects for applications

The results of studies on radiation-initiated telomerization of tetrafluoroethylene and on the properties of telomers with reactive terminal hydroxyl, amino, and silane groups are summarized. Prospects for application of the telomers obtained in the design of hydrophobic coatings of glass and polyester fabrics and highly porous ceramic materials based on quartz fibers are assessed.
