Process and installation for the cleaning of raw gases by means of physical gas scrubbing

A process for the separation of undesired, in particular acidic gas components from a raw gas, in particular raw synthesis gas, wherein the methanol is cooled in a compression refrigerating machine using a multi-component refrigerant by absorption with cold methanol as a physical washing agent. The use of the coolant according to the invention provides significant advantages in terms of required in the compression chiller compressor capacity to provide a specified cooling performance.
