The world has long marvelled at the spectacular accomplishments and monuments of the civilisation of ancient Egypt. When Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922, he uncovered treasures that had remained untouched and wonderfully intact for over three millennia. He revealed the objects of a golden age where art, architecture and literature had flourished in equal measure.
