Tratamento de agua de producao via oxidacao por ozonio

1996
This paper researches the behaviour of water associated with processed oil in Brazil vis-a-vis chemical ozone oxidation assessing the efficiency of removing the major pollutants present in that kind of waste, such as oil and grease, ammoniac nitrogen, total organic carbon and phenols. Byproducts of the process were also evaluated by means of some toxicity trials, a parameter that allows to observe and compare the impact on the environment when the effluent is discarded prior and after the treatment; thus the toxicity of the products formed as against those present originally in the sample is ascertained. The main feature of this effluent is its high salt tenor with choride concentrations of up to 100 000 mg/L, which impairs the use of biological processes in the treatment.
