Deepwater technology. Part 5. (conclusion). Deepwater well control offers complex options

1984
Although the basics of successful well control in floating drilling are the same as those for other types of drilling, some aspects are complicated by the motion of the drilling vessel, the reduction in fracture gradient at the last casing seat as water depth increases, and the increased friction pressure losses and rapid changes in hydrostatic pressure. The conclusion of this series discusses the specialized procedures applicable to floating drilling.
