TRWD EXPERIENCE WITH PRESTRESSED CONCRETE PIPE

The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD), a wholesale water supplier in North Central Texas, operates two 120 km (75 mi) long large diameter prestressed concrete cylinder pipelines and is constructing a third pipeline. Solutions to problems encountered with the first two pipelines were incorporated into the specifications of the third pipeline. Problems still unresolved with the first two pipelines will lead to additional changes in specifying new pipelines, and the concepts of those changes are presented.
