장애대학생의 필라테스 운동 참여가 기초체력 및 삶의 질 변화에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to recognize the effects of regular pilates exercise program on physical fitness, body shaping, and quality of life. Eight physically disabled subjects participated in the study, and following results were found : 1. Among 10 subordinate factors of physical self-concept, sport ability and physical ability showed significant differences (p .05). 2. Among 4 subordinate factors of perceptional-emotional condition, immersion and pleasure factors showed significant differences (p .05). 3. Most of factors in physical fitness (i.e., right and left grip strength, isometric contraction at 55° tilting degrees, and throwing of medicine ball) showed significant differences, especially left-grip and throwing of medicine ball showed remarkable improvement (p .05). 4. Three subordinate factors of body composition (i.e., body mass, % body fat, and BMI) did not show any noticeable differences (p>.05). Based on these results, following conclusions were drawn : applying regular pilates exercise program can be exert beneficial effects in physically challenged people especially in physical strength and quality of life. (at least, partially), when the program is used for aiming of sport for all. However, further researches using various types of pilates exercise program, different exercise intensities and durations are to be conducted to figure out more detailed effects.
