Uncertainty based configuration design and optimal operation of a grid-connected Micro-Grid

2013
This paper studies the design and optimal operation of a grid-connected Micro-Grid. First, different feasible planning schemes has been generated with consideration of uncertainties. In the next step, in order to analyze uncertainty, risk exposure, robustness and flexibility indices have been presented. Also, in order to rank planning schemes, technical, economical and environmental criteria have been introduced as subcategories of abovementioned indices. MADM-AHP method has been applied in order to obtain relative weights of planning schemes and accordingly, the most appropriate planning scheme has been chosen. In the operation phase for the selected planning scheme, a constrained optimization problem is formulated to supply electrical and thermal load for a specific time period, which minimizes the overall cost of the electrical power, the fuel and incentive based Demand Response program, subject to some electrical and thermal constraints. This problem is solved for a typical day and the operating time and output KW, for units are brought in simulations and the results have been discussed.
