The investigation on the mechanism of the increased decay time in red SrS:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor

2018
Abstract In this manuscript, a stick-like SrS:0.03Eu 3+ ,0.03Dy 3+ microstructure with about 20–30 μm in width and several hundred μm in length was fabricated utilizing a post-annealing hydrothermal method, in which the size of the structure is modulated by the surfactants used while formation of the precursor. The stick like microstructure shows very long decay time compare to that obtained by the traditional high temperature method at the same condition for about 6 times. A “bridge-transmissionmechanism to explain the long phosphorescence phenomenon, including two factors mainly the homogenously incorporation of Eu and Dy elements into the crystal lattice by hydrothermal co-deposition method, and the dense interface among crystalline grains due to the shrinkage of the structure while annealing.
