Beyond Competition: Policy dialogue on cooperation between the UK and Australia in international higher education

This report summarises the outcomes of a high level policy dialogue, 'Beyond Competition: Cooperation between Australia and the United Kingdom in International Higher Education', held over a day and a half on 1 and 2 October 2012, at the Woodward Conference Centre, Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, Victoria. Recognising that the issues relevant to enhancing education cooperation between Australia and the UK are many and varied, and that participant discussion was likely to be most effective through some pre-analysis of the issues, the planning group commissioned a number of background papers for distribution to participants before the Symposium. The stimulus papers are included in this report. Nine background stimulus papers were prepared by topic experts in the UK and Australia to provide consolidated information and conceptual analyses of the issues around five primary topics.
