Analysis of Display Latency for 3D Perceptual Experiments

2016
Abstract : The purpose of this investigation was to test if timing variability in a 3D stereo display was correlated with the displayed degree of stereo depth cue. A series of recordings of display timing were made under various levels of experimental manipulation to test for correlation between dimensions. Small correlations were identified in the device, as well as systematic delays in recorded timing over scheduled timing. No meaningful correlation was found between display timing and human response times. We conclude that any perception of a correlation is due to the human perceptual system and should not prevent further use of the tested 3D display system for further empirical research in 711 HPW/RHCV.
