Production of porous polymer structure
1995
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a porous structure which is a homogeneous, lacelike bicontinuous structure by preparing and specifically treating a soln. contg. diphenyl sulfone and a specific polymer. SOLUTION: A porous polymer structure is formed by preparing a soln. contg. diphenyl sulfone and a polymer selected from among a polysulfone, a polyaryl sulfone, and polyphenylene oxide at 130-230°C, cooling the soln. to such a temp. that its viscosity is high enough to prevent the separation of the polymer from diphenyl sulfone, pref. that its dynamic shearing modulus is 10 7 dyn/cm 2 or higher. and bringing it into contact with a solvent mixture contg. acetone and methanol.
