Development of audio and video signal processing system for DV format VCR

We have newly developed the audio and video signal processing system for the DV format VCR. This new system mainly consists of four LSIs: (1) a digital read channel LSI; (2) DV coding/decoding LSI; (3) digital interface LSI; and (4) a video signal input/output LSI. The system contains the digital read channel for the first time on a DV format VCR. The digital approach on the read channel has greatly reduced the variations of performance and has eliminated the need for complicated adjustments. The digital read channel LSI has a low power consumption of 280 mW.
