Contribution of Error Analysis to Foreign Language Teaching

The paper introduces the development of error analysis theory,and offers some suggestions on treating students' language errors in foreign language teaching based on the theory.The creation of error analysis theory has both enriched the achievements of research on foreign language teaching theories and offers important implications for handling learners' language errors in teaching.Teachers should have a rightful understanding of errors in the process of language learning and deal with them separately,and vigorously guide teaching with the help of error feedback.Students are allowed to learn the language and make errors on the one hand,and form self-repair mechanism during the process of constant error-making on the other hand,which will make them make progress and achieve success through learning from their errors.
