Profiles of and Instructional Strategies for Adult Disabled Readers.

An adult literacy tutor asks: I've been working with Marty for 8 months now. He tries really hard, remembers to bring his books and is faithful about meeting me at the library for our weekly sessions. I keep wondering though, it's like I'm not sure if he's making that much progress. ...He rubs his eyes a bit and sometimes I have to repeat directions....! thought Marty would be doing much better by now, maybe even reading the newspaper. What can I do to really see where Marty is and where he can go?
