Цистный эхинококкоз животных

2016
Echinococcosis is one of the most significant and widespread parasitoses in the world posing a serious problem not only for veterinary medicine but also for medicine. The causative agent Echinococcus granulosus is localized in the liver, lungs, sometimes in the brain, eyes and bones. Larval cysts are single or multiple water blisters (hydatides) with a diameter from 1,5…2 mm to 15 cm. Allergy factor (up to anaphylactic shock) and mechanical damages of vital organs, as well as inoculation, toxic and trophic effects of larvae causing this helminthiasis play an important role in the pathogenesis of echinococcosis of farm animals. The grade of pathogenic effect of echinococcus on the animal organism is expressed in different ways depending on localization, number and dimensions of blisters, allergization level of the host and mechanical damages of his organs and tissues. Clinical manifestations are nonspecific. The augmentation rate of symptoms is associated with the localization of echinococcus. The illness may develop over the years and revealed accidentally. In the Russian Federation the Black Earth regions, Northern Caucasus, Volga and Ural regions with synanthropic foci are unfavorable for animal echinococcosis, also Siberia and Far East where natural foci dominate.
