protein and gene compositions insecticides secreted from Bacillus thuringiensis and its uses

2004
"Compositions protein and gene INSECTICIDES secreted BACILLUS FROM THURINGIENSIS AND ITS USES". The present invention relates to the isolation and characterization of nucleotide sequences that encode unusual insecticidal proteins secreted within the extracellular space of Bacillus thuringiensis and related strains. The proteins are isolated from the supernatants of cultures of Bacillus thuringiensis and related strains, and exhibit insecticidal activity against insects Lepidoptera, including the drill European corn (ECB), the larva of the tobacco bud (TBW) and the moth's losanged dorsum (DBM). The insecticidal proteins encoded by nucleotide sequences that hybridize under stringent conditions to nucleotide sequences isolated and characterized are described. They are described methods of making and using transgenic cells and plants comprising the nucleotide sequences of unusual.
