Terrestrial laser scanning effective tool for three-dimensional models of real surface, but practice of application this method in the oil and gas industry facilities has shown specific difficulties of its practical application.The article is discussed the problems and prospects of methods for monitoring the spatial position of oil tanks using 3D laser scanning systems. Consider a typical problem arising at the working on laser scanning and processing the results in order to obtain more accurate values of the parameters studied spatial position oil tanks.
