The Differential Diagnosis of Thick-Wall Gallbladder Carcinoma and Chronic Cholecystitis with Spiral CT

Objective To evaluate the value in the differential diagnosis of thick-wall gallbladder carcinoma(TWGC) and chronic cholecystitis(CC) with spiral CT.Materials and Methods CT findings in 25 cases with TWGC and 40 cases with CC proved by operation and pathology were retrospectively analyzed.Results There was significantly statistical difference in the thickness and shape of gallbladder-wall,the continuity of gallbladder mucosal line,obstructive position of biliary system,interface between liver and gallbladder,and involvement of liver between TWGC and CC.Conclusion Spiral CT might be helpful in the differential diagnosis of TWGC and CC.
