Simulation and Optimization of Automobile Back Door Lock

2021
The car door lock system is an important piece of equipment to protect the lives and property of members in the car. National standards have clear provisions for the static load performance test of automobile door locks. For models such as SUVs, the back door lock system must withstand the load of three working conditions according to the standard requirements. Due to the lock structure and other reasons, the back door lock often suffers from excessive deformation in the direction of load 3 specified in the standard, which causes the test to fail. In this paper, a finite element analysis is performed on the back door lock of a certain model, and the results show that the stiffness in three directions of the load is insufficient and the deformation is large. The analysis results are compared with the test results to verify the accuracy of the analysis. Based on the analysis results, the lock structure was optimized for design. After the optimization of the lock, the stiffness in the three directions of the load was significantly improved.
