Lymphatic regeneration and pulmonary function in a model canine lung reimplant

1977
A CANINE model lung reimplant was used to investigate the effect of pulmonary lymphatic regeneration on lung function in the early post-operative period. It was concluded that transient stenosis, due to oedema, at the bronchial suture line was an important factor in the depression of lung function. The time required ior dissipation of bronchial oedema coincided with pulmonary lymphatic regeneration.
