Process for extracting phytic acid from rice husk (bran)

2001
A process for extracting phytic acid from rice chaff (bran) includes such steps as pulverizing raw material then defatting, extracting with inorganic acid while controlling pH value at 2-3, filteringthe liquid extract, settling in polyacrylic acid, then filtering, neutralizing the filtrate with alkali to obtain double salt of phytic acid, refining, hydrolysis, ion exchange, decolouring and concentrating to obtain over 70% solution of phytic acid. Its advantage is high output rate up to 5-8% for rice chaff.
