The invention provides a control method for reactive compensation of a network, which comprises the steps of: connecting and collecting passive demand information of an adjacent transformer substation through the network; if the network is disconnected, controlling the switching on or off of a capacitor according to the passive demand of the transformer substation; and if the network is connected, before each switching on or off, sending data to the adjacent transformer substation, and receiving the data of the adjacent transformer substation, and controlling the switching on or off of the capacitor according to the reactive demands of the transformer substation and the adjacent transformer substation to ensure that only one transformer substation switching capacitor exists each time.
