The response of enzyme activity in Myzus persicae(Sulzer) to SO_2 stress

2013
The effects of 0 mg·m-3(CK),42.75 mg·m-3,85.50 mg·m-3,128.25 mg·m-3 and 213.75 mg·m-3 sulfur dioxide on the several important enzyme systems in Myzus persicae(Sulzer) were studied. The results showed that 42.75 mg·m-3 sulfur dioxide could significantly promote activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),carboxylesterase(CarE) and glutathione-S-transferase(GSTs) in M.persicae, but promoting effect on catalase(CAT) was not significant.85.50 mg·m-3 sulfur dioxide could significantly promote activities of three kinds of protective enzymes(SOD,POD,CAT),but had no significant effects on the activities of CarE,GSTs and acetylcholinesterase(AChE) in M.persicae.The activities of protective enzymes in M.persicae had no significant differences compared with control after the treatments of 128.25 mg·m-3 and 213.75 mg·m-3 SO2(except that 213.75 mg·m-3 SO2 could significantly promote the POD activity);Meanwhile,128.25 mg·m-3 sulfur dioxide could significantly promote the activity of GSTs,213.75 mg·m-3 sulfur dioxide could significantly inhibit the activity of CarE.Furthermore,SO2 stress could promote the soluble protein content in host plants and the activity of protease in M.persicae.
