Design of Yunjin Road Landscape Pedestrian Bridge in Nanjing

2011
To meet the landscape requirements of the special geographical location of the Yunjin Road Landscape Pedestrian Bridge and also the functional demands of the bridge, and based on the principle of urban morphology, the landscape design idea of weakening the mass of the bridge was adopted. The bridge is 45.0 m in full length and with a main span of 37.0 m.The main beam is of the spine-shape steel tube truss beam with 3 steel tubes in the upper part and 1 steel tube in the lower part.A steel cantilever is flanged at each side of the main beam,in which three 3 prestressing tendons are arranged. At each side of the steel tube installed in the lower part of the main beam,1 external prestressing tendon is arranged. The pier of the bridge is designed as a Y-shape pier, founded on the bored pile of 1 m in diameter and 30 m in length. In the midspan of the bridge,4 TMD(tuned mass damper) vibration reduction control systems, each weighing 300 kg,were installed to absorb the vibration of the bridge. The escalators were set up at the two ends of the bridge. The design of the bridge achieves the goal of spanning function, meanwhile, gives consideration to the sense of aesthetic and modern.
