Shielding Effectiveness of ESD Protective Packaging

There has always been the claim that ESD protective packaging will shield electric fields. While tests exist to measure the shielding effectiveness of materials, a measurement technique does not exist to measure shielding effectiveness of ESD protective packaging. This paper details an approach to measuring shielding effectiveness of protective packaging by placing a noise source within the package, then measuring the noise leakage that escapes in a reverberation chamber.
