Elastic Scattering Properties of Ultracold Potassium Atoms in the Triplet State

2019
The elastic scattering properties of ultracold potassium (39K) atoms in the triplet state (\( a{}^{3}\sum\nolimits_{u}^{ + } {} \)) are investigated using two different kinds of interatomic potentials [the interpolation potential and Lennard-Jones potential (LJ12,6)]. The s-wave scattering lengths for the triplet state are calculated to be 79.4945 \( a_{0} \) and 79.3341 \( a_{0} \), respectively, by employing the Numerov and semiclassical methods. They are in excellent agreement with the recent theoretical results. It shows that the two atomic potentials and calculation methods are applicable to research the interaction between ultracold atoms.
