Oven Safety Monitoring and Alarm

2016
In this chapter we consider in detail all the required safety systems for monitoring the equipment, alarms which warn operators of problems during baking and systems to shut down the oven in the case of serious malfunction. The systems include (1) oven band tracking: monitoring of the band position, correcting the tracking and shut down if the movement is excessive; (2) oven band drive and tension system operation; (3) emergency drive in the case of a power failure; (4) gas system monitoring for pressure, leakage in the gas train and safety solenoid valves; (5) purge system to empty the baking chamber or heater module of any unburned gas before lighting the burners; (6) fan operation monitored by pressure switches; (7) shut down in the case of excessive temperature; (8) emergency stop buttons.
