Ischio-Ilial Pinning for Stabilization of Coxofemoral Luxations in Twenty-One Dogs: A Retrospective Evaluation
1991
Ischio-ilial pinning was retrospectively evaluated as a method to manage craniodor- sal coxofemoral luxation in 21 dogs. Reduction was maintained in 73% of dogs. Pins placed adjacent to the dorsal acetabular rim resulted in the lowest incidence of reluxation. Pin migration occurred in 2 dogs. The use of ischio-ilial pins should be considered at the time of initial closed reduction of craniodorsal coxofemoral luxations.
