How to create a sustainability strategy for tourism development? The case of the city of Pavia

ABSTRACT Based on the experience of Pavia’s city (near Milan, in Italy) this paper analyses the implementation of a sustainability strategy for tourism development. The research is based on primary and secondary data. this study intends to investigate this problem. The key questions of the paper are: 1) How to create a sustainability strategy for tourism development? 2) What are the main critical success factors (FCS) of a sustainability strategy for tourism development? The results show a suggests a strategic framework can be applied also to other organizations and cities.
