Enabling care staff to relate to elderly people with acquired communication disabilities

This article reports the first stage of a project to develop and evaluate a training package on relating to elderly people with communication disabilities. The package has been designed specifically to train care assistants working in the adult residential care sector. The project was set up by Action for Dysphasic Adults, a charity with the specific remit to support people with aphasia and their carers, and was funded by the Department of Health.
