Portable System for Real Time Detection of P, QRS and T Waves from ECG Signals

2019
Electrocardiography (ECG/EKG) is a non - invasive method for the diagnosis of the heart’s electrical activity used to detect anomalies. Computer-aided analysis of ECG can help physicians with timely detection of high-risk cardiac features in patients. The useful information of the ECG signal is stored in 3 discrete waves namely P wave, T wave, and the QRS complex, thus the most crucial part of the Computer-aided analysis is their detection. In this paper, the authors have designed and implemented a hardware system which runs a robust algorithm [3] developed by them to rapidly detect the location of compositing waves. The proposed system has been tested with human subjects and precise outputs have been achieved in the identification of P, QRS and T waves in real-time.
