Hematoporphyrin and Laser for the Treatment of CNS Infections

Laser sources were used in septic pathology since 1975 for the treatment of decubitus ulcers with good surgical results (2, 4). Subsequently many authors treated several infective lesions with CO2 laser obtaining a primary wound healing in 80% of cases with better results than similar cases treated with conventional methods (1).
