Method for producing probe for vitreous body operation

Provided is a method for producing a probe for a vitreous body operation such that the production of a probe for vitreous body operation in which a distal outer surface and a distal inner surface are both flat is facilitated. The method for producing a probe (10) for a vitreous body operation comprises steps of: placing a steel plate (30) in contact with an end face of a steel pipe (20); and applying an energy beam (50) along the outer circumference of the pipe end face from the steel plate side. By applying the energy beam (50), the steel plate (30) is cut while the pipe (20) and the steel plate (30) are welded. The steel sheet is cut and welded by using the same energy beam while both processes may be performed in separate steps.
